“Horses have always been central to my life. From childhood show jumping to decades of racehorse breeding, and more recently, breeding Arab-cross horses as a hobby, my journey has always revolved around the equine world. I’m drawn to exploration—whether across Africa, deserts, or oceans—and nothing compares to doing it on horseback. I’ve ridden the Wild Coast of South Africa, crossed the mountains of Lesotho, explored Botswana’s Big Five territory in Mashatu, and completed the Gaucho Derby in 2022. I believe success in extreme horseback adventures comes from building a strong bond with your horse—respect them, and they’ll give you everything. After completing the Gaucho Derby, I promised myself I’d return—to Argentina’s incredible people, its exceptional horses, the asados, and the raw beauty of Patagonia.
So when Jacob announced the Pass of Tears race, I seized the opportunity. It’s a race that tests every aspect of rider and horse, set in one of the world’s most breathtaking and diverse landscapes, among a global community of like-minded adventurers. This is the ultimate challenge for the horseman, outdoorsman, and explorer in me.”
