Growing up in Kenya, I have ridden my whole life – I am primarily a polo player – but I started off in dressage and eventing. I started playing polo at age 12 – and since then I have had the fortune to play in Kenya, Argentina, India, Italy, America, and most recently the UK, where I played professionally for the last three years.
I have always felt a deep connection to horses – and my favourite riding of all – is to get on a horse, choose a direction and make up the rest as we go – the more wild the land the better!

What excites me most about the race is the horses and the landscape – to be able to ride through Patagonia and make the decisions about where to go and when – I can think of nothing better than to be alone on the mountains with a horse I can rely on and only a vague idea of where to go.
I look forward to the competition, but for me, it is more about the adventure and the connection I will form with my horses. And I think that is the true spirit of riding.
