I am a lifelong horseman, an experienced trail rider/explorer, and the owner of a horse ranch in Slovenia (Europe) where I currently keep fourteen horses of my own. I run a riding school with more than seventy (70) active riders weekly and work hands-on with horses every day. A significant part of my work is starting and developing young horses, always with an emphasis on correct horsemanship, patience, trust, and long-term soundness—both mentally and physically. I pass this knowledge on to younger generations in my riding school too.
I hold a master degree in Animal Science and I am finishing my PhD in Environmental management.
I am fully comfortable riding for long hours in demanding terrain and remote conditions, managing horses in the wild, and making calm decisions when situations become unpredictable. Horses are not just my profession, but my constant companions in challenging environments.
When I first get to know about Pass of Tears I instantly knew that this is a kind of adventure I’ve been craving for all my life. To have the opportunity to explore and travel with horses like they did way back in the past. To explore unknown terrain, pass the challenges, fight with rough weather and sleep in the wilderness, where your only companions are your horse and sense for survival. That is something I’ve been born for! Previously, I’ve been on many expeditions riding horses in Afrika, USA, and Europe. I’ve been offroading, exploring of the beaten tracks, and climbing high mountains in remote and harsh places. I slept in the desserts, on the glaciers, in the jungle. I survived snow storms in the mountains without a tent. Pass of Tears seems just a cherry on top of my previous expeditions.
