The race is entering its final stage, with the lead group now just 5 km from the finish line, currently camping out before the last push.
At the front are Toby, Callie, Santiago, Alfonsina, and Andres. Two of the horses ridden by Tobby and Callie have lost a shoe, meaning they will need to complete the final kilometers without, which may slow them down.
Just 2 km behind, Gillian and Ozbe are closing in, keeping strong pressure on the leaders.
All are expected to reach the finish line around 8:30 am.
A few kilometers behind, Wiesman, Leo, Louis, Jaco, and Mariaan are resting at Vet Check 6, with horses in very good condition.
Also at Vet Check 6, Daisy and Liam, along with Robin, are safe after completing the plateau and preparing for the next stage.
Chloe and Sofia are at the compulsory stop, ready to take on the next section tomorrow morning.
All remaining riders — Lexy, Isabel, Marguerite and Mary, Mariano and Marguerita, and Emma — are currently at Puesto Bajo Comisión, resting and regrouping.
For Natasha, Nour, and Marcos, a horse change was required at Vet Check 5 which was unfortunately not available. Thus, they were all helicoptered to Vet Check 7 where they picked up their first horses to complete the rest of the course.
With the leaders only a few kilometers from the finish, the race is now entering its final and decisive moments.
