My connection to horses:
I’ve been riding horses for as long as I can remember. Horses have always been my greatest inspiration. I had a severe accident as a baby — I was burned at six months old — and throughout my life, horses became the force that kept me going. They inspired my dream of becoming an Olympic athlete.
I am a dressage rider. I competed at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games and have ridden professionally for 15 years. I am currently training for the Los Angeles 2028 Games. I’ve also practiced show jumping, competed in “Freno de Oro,” ridden racehorses, completed endurance races up to 120 km, and trained young horses. A little bit of everything.
My bond with horses is pure inspiration. I live in the countryside, and I always say that horses brought me out of a coma many times. They carried me through years of hospital stays and gave me purpose, strength, and life.
Why I signed up for Pass of Tears:
When Jaco called me about Pass of Tears, I immediately said yes. It felt extraordinary — something unique. For me, it’s an experience of learning, of pushing my limits… physical limits, mental limits. I know this race will be an emotional roller coaster.
In my personal case, it’s also a major physical challenge. I live with chronic pain every day, and being able to manage myself in such extreme conditions will be a powerful new lesson for me. This race is perfect for anyone who loves to grow, to push themselves, to live a new experience, and to face an extreme challenge that becomes a journey of personal discovery.
I feel so much excitement and joy. I can’t wait to be there — you have no idea how much this means to me.
My teammate:
My friend and teammate is Santiago Ruiz. I couldn’t ask for a better partner. I feel that this experience will strengthen our friendship even more. He is truly passionate about horses, about the bond with the animal, and about being connected to the landscapes and the journey itself.
We are both incredibly happy and excited to ride this race together as a team.
